Geography
The study of geography is about more than just memorizing places on a map. It's about understanding the complexity of our world

At St Columba’s, we believe every person is precious to God, and as Geographers, we explore the beauty and diversity of His creation. Inspired by Psalm 24:1, we teach children to understand and appreciate the world and its people, recognising that the Earth is a gift from God to be cared for and respected.
Our Geography curriculum inspires curiosity and a love of learning about the world, from local surroundings to global communities. Through topics like climate change, sustainability, and community life, we link learning to Catholic Social Teaching, focusing on stewardship, solidarity, and compassion for the poor and vulnerable.
Children develop key geographical knowledge and skills—from using maps and digital tools to conducting fieldwork and presenting their findings. We encourage them to ask questions, think critically, and communicate their understanding confidently, helping them find their place in the world and their role in caring for it.
