We all hope you had a lovely Christmas holidays and are excited for our new half term.
This half term our topic is fantasy. We will be listening to stories with fantasy themes, with both traditional and modern characters. We will be reading The Three Billy Goats Gruff, The Gruffalo and Room on the Broom. We also have new children starting in nursery this half term so things will be getting busy in our nursery and their maybe a few tears. Things will settle down after a few weeks so please bear with us. The weather is very cold and wet at the moment but we will still be playing outside every day. Therefore for this term please bring your child in wellies every day. There is no need to bring any other outdoor shoes however please bring a warm waterproof coat.
To find out what we are doing each week look at the blue display board in the cloakroom. It will tell you the theme of the week, the book we are reading, and the activities we are doing. We will also keep you updated on what has happened in nursery everyday on our daily activity sheets, which we write after each session.
As always, it is not just the learning at Nursery which we value. If your child is doing anything amazing at home, please let us know. We have WOW cards in the cloakroom to write on, which we can then put in your child’s learning journey books. If you are not sure what to write, take a look in the cloakroom at our ‘learning in nursery’, and ‘WOW card’ displays, for ideas.
If you would like to have a look at your child’s learning journey book at any time, you are very welcome to. They are located in boxes by the door leading to the outdoor area. Look to check which group your child is in and find their book in that box, but please don’t take them out of the nursery. We keep our door open for 25 minutes at the start of every session. Therefore if you would like to stay and play with your child for a while, or look at your child’s learning journey book with them, please do so.
Thank you very much for all your support.
